Great book for French learners
I enjoyed this reading this book. I thought the french was an appropriate level and the story is fun to ready. It also introduces plenty of french cultural aspects. I love how it is laid out. At first you read only in french followed by the same chapter with the parallel text in english. You will need to know some french to understand the book but with the parallel text it should be easier enough for a beginner to understand and grow their vocabulary. I also like how they broke up the vocabulary throughout the chapters instead of just at the end. There are also little quizzes to insure you understand what you are reading. If you can I would also recommend you get the audio version if available to listen while you read also.
Learning French through a relatable story
I really enjoyed this book. The story was engaging with characters you can relate to (at least for me, they're basically people I know in my own life). The setting they chose is something most people will be familiar with: at university. Classes, the stress of exams, the fun we have as university students...all these things are familiar for most people, so this book should be enjoyable for almost everyone. What's most helpful in this book is the material as well as they way it's formatted. In each chapter, you get the story completely in French, accompanied by a dictionary that defines potentially new words. Then, there's a comprehension quiz in French. The chapter then repeats with side-by-side French and English text so you can check your understanding and/or learn new wording, sentence structure, grammar, etc. This format is very effective in helping me to learn French, as I'm sure it will be for others as well.

This book provides a great way for A2-B2 French learners to work on reading skills and vocabulary and also to learn a bit about the city of Lyon. The story provides an interesting glimpse into student and family life in France as seen through the eyes of an American study abroad student.
